Lisa WhitmorePublishing™

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17 August 2026

Lisa Whitmore Publishing respects your privacy. This notice explains, in straightforward terms, how personal information may be used when you visit our website, contact us or purchase from us.

Who is responsible for your information?

Lisa Whitmore Publishing is responsible for the personal information it collects and uses for its own business purposes. Privacy enquiries can be sent to hello@lisawhitmorepublishing.co.uk.

Information we may collect

  • Your name and contact details, such as email address and telephone number.
  • Billing and delivery information needed to fulfil an order.
  • Order, transaction and customer-service information.
  • Messages or enquiries you send to us.
  • Technical or website-use information where collected through necessary website systems, analytics or cookies.

Why we use personal information

  • To process, fulfil and administer orders and provide customer service.
  • To communicate with you about an order or enquiry.
  • To meet legal, accounting, tax, fraud-prevention and security obligations.
  • To operate, protect and improve the website and business where we have an appropriate lawful basis.
  • To send marketing only where permitted by law and where any required consent has been obtained.

Lawful bases

Depending on the activity, we may process personal information because it is necessary to perform a contract with you, to comply with a legal obligation, because we have a legitimate interest that is not overridden by your rights, or because you have given consent. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it.

Payments

Website payments are processed using Stripe. Stripe processes payment information in connection with the transaction. Lisa Whitmore Publishing does not need to receive or store your full payment-card number in order to fulfil your order. Stripe's own privacy information applies to its processing of payment data.

Messages sent through this website

The "Send a message" form on our contact page is delivered to us by Web3Forms, a form-delivery service. The name, email address and message you type into it pass through that service in order to reach our inbox. You can always email us directly instead, using any of the addresses on the contact page.

Who we may share information with

We may share information only where reasonably necessary with service providers involved in operating the website, processing payments, fulfilling or delivering orders, providing technical services, keeping business records, or complying with legal requirements. Service providers should only use personal information as permitted by their role and applicable law.

International processing

Some technology or payment providers may process information outside the UK. Where this occurs, appropriate legal safeguards should be used as required by UK data protection law.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including order fulfilment, customer service, accounting, tax, legal and dispute-resolution requirements. Retention periods may therefore vary according to the type of information.

Your data protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights including access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate information, erasure, restriction, objection, and data portability. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise a right, contact hello@lisawhitmorepublishing.co.uk.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how your personal information is used, please contact us first so that we can try to resolve it. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Cookies

This website does not use cookies for advertising, tracking or analytics, and it does not run an analytics service. Our typefaces are served from this website rather than from a third party, so viewing a page does not report your visit to anyone else. If you buy a book, the checkout is hosted by Stripe, which sets its own strictly necessary cookies to process the payment and prevent fraud; that happens on Stripe's own pages, and Stripe's privacy information applies there.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy as the website, services or legal requirements change. The latest version is published on the website with an updated date.
